While most of us noticed the heat and humidity in the air on the last Thursday of February, it was the excitement of going to the movies that hit you like a heatwave upon entering Dasha School in Mbombela (Nelspruit).

Situated in the western part of Mbombela, the school has 47 learners with a multi-spectrum of disabilities and are between the ages of 8 and 27 years. There is a workshop were skills training is done. The crafts made here are then sold at local markets to generate extra income. A variety of mediums are used from knitting to pottery, sewing and even mosaic.

Since the school relies on donations and sponsorships from the community, this fun entertaiment excursion organised by Emnotweni Casino (part of Tsogo Sun) is a first in many years. The last time the kids were spoiled with this kind of activity, one mostly taken for granted, was when Disney’s Cars was a feature film at the box office.

Ntwanano Tours and Transfers’ involvement in this day was in the form of providing safe and reliable transportation to and from Riverside Mall. Being able to help with the transfers does not leave one unchanged. Spending time with these amazing kids teaches one to treasure the seemingly ordinary moments, and to discover each of those moments carries with them extraordinary emotions; love, gratitude, excitement, even pain.
